Additions from Ray and Jan...

Somewhere up the magnificent coast south of San Francisco.

Some dag checking his nasal hair in the mirror of that cool mobile home.
A car and half and a bit more!!!! Lincoln.

Bakersfield Street Art and other stuff...

Padre Hotel in the back ground.
Body work is a little ripley.
Nice work on the wall of the Tattoo shop.
Another tattoo shop across the laneway, with the wolf from "Three little Bops".

I walked in to Guthries, by myself, the others were scaredy cats!, everything stopped at the bar, all eyes lifted from the beers and watched me walk in, look around, then back to their beers as I left.

These guys seem to be following me!!!!!

The entrance to "Muetros" cafe, hmmm could I be patient enough to get my back tattooed? may be :)
Don't look too hard at the pic, but "THEIR" there again!
Our Hotel, Padre Hotel, street art in front of the hotel.

Bakersfield CA... Day 11

Get "Lucky Tubbs, 'Bakersfield'" record out or watch

Left the high country behind, 6000ft+ behind and now in the flat country south of Fresno at Bakersfield.
Every time we spoke to natives that we are going to Bakersfield, we got:

  • Eyes roll
  • Your going to Las Vegas?
  • Ohhh boy!

Although we are not going walking at night, the Padre Hotel is fantastic:

Down the road...
Then you walk in via...
Fresh Street Art...
into...

I saw the one the stand, the surf board Hawaiian lap...

I almost pulled out the $70 (including case), then remembered I couldn't play it!  And it was on sale! :(

Then next door... (dripping Art Deco):

Haha Great Pic!

Then down on the next block...

Getting better, multiple subjects in this "footer photograph".

While leaving Sonora CA Dropped into California Hot Rods

Missed Mick, but was shown around the workshop, very pleased we dropped.  It is around the corner from the Hickey's and open on the Monday on our way to Yosemite...
Some pics... they tell the story.

Say Goodbye to the Hickeys and off to Yosemite... Day 10

Well it was great to see the Hickeys, fell into place very easily and very pleased you too enjoyed having us.
Nothing was a problem, you went out of your way to make it a nice time... many thanks from Denise and I.

Well all good things must end, I hope the van once de-oiled/de-gunged is and should be okay and you get the mower replaced on warranty.

Headed off one way, but pleased we made the decision to turn around off Ward's Ferry Road! The main road was 'interesting' let alone going via a secondary road!

Well this is one place you must use the word 'Awesome', nature at it best.
I will need to get Jan and Ray's pics to prove it.
Here are some from our day at Yosemite.
and not in the correct order... GOOGLE???

Our first stop on the way after climbing ~6000ft, (by car), and a spectacular view of the twins oh and the back drop.
This is the view from the lower lookout for the falls, heading down stream.
All those with a Mac and 'Yosemite' OS will recognise this view.
 The view gets better.
Stunning view only enhanced with Ray and Jan.

Although there had been very little snow in their winter, the falls still had enough snow run off to put on a good show.
Who took this photograph? Nice work, even if I do say so myself.

The boys and a great shot, if out of focus, of Denise's finger.
More of Denise's finger, ohh and Ray and Bruce.
Now if you can focus past the girls, and look way, way into the distance, you can see the big rock and a little peak with snow!
Squint and imagine if you can't.
Ray and Jan's pics to follow.
