Road Trip from Bakersfield to Las Vegas...

It’s 286 miles to Las Vegas, we’ve got a 1/4 tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s not dark and we’re wearing sunglasses.
Hit it!

Being conservative, keeping up with the main flow @ 80MPH and letting the fast cars overtake... Kowabludybunga!!!!
Not long to get there!
Then the 1.5hour <5MPH traffic jamb as road works coupled with an accident allows us to see more desert than we wanted to!

Thanks to our travelling photographers, Jan and Ray.

Not to mention all 4 of considering... "Will I make it to the next toilet stop while stuck in the 'no flow traffic' with no bushes?"

It was easy to spot the new solar generation plant.

Thanks to our travelling photographers, Jan and Ray.

I'm sure you can appreciate the intensity of the concentrated light on the receptors... it was hard to look at, in fact it was probably good it was difficult to look at!
There was a third tower going in and a lot of new power poles and wiring heading out of this location towards???
You guessed it LAS VEGAS!

And here is why...
